Youth Ski League (YSL)

Take the Next Step into Alpine Racing

Silver Run's Youth Ski League is for young athletes who have built strong foundational ski skills and are ready to begin focusing on Alpine race training and competition.

Skiers train Saturdays and Sundays with certified coaches dedicated to this group. Training is fun first, combining free skiing, skill-based drills, and race courses to help athletes become stronger, more confident skiers and racers.

Athletes should have participated in Silver Run Devo or Red Lodge Mountain's Alpine Training Team before registering and must be able to confidently ski blue terrain. Silver Run coach approval is recommended before moving into YSL.

Building Strong Skiers & Racers

Athletes train in Slalom, Giant Slalom, and SkillsQuest, with plenty of directed free skiing and drills to develop strong technical skills.

Coaches also use video analysis to help athletes see and understand their skiing and identify where they can continue to improve.

Competition is an important part of the YSL experience. Athletes are encouraged to participate in Northern Division Youth Ski League races, giving them the opportunity to experience competition, challenge themselves, and build friendships with young racers from across the region.
