Find the Right Program for Your Skier
Devo
Ages 6–12 | Foundational Ski Development
Every young Silver Run skier begins in Devo.
Athletes build strong fundamental skiing skills while exploring the mountain, skiing gates, playing in the terrain park, and developing confidence across different terrain.
As their skills develop, coaches help determine whether they're ready to progress toward Freeride or Alpine Racing.
Choose Devo if:
Your child is new to Silver Run or is still developing the foundational skills needed for more advanced skiing.
READY FOR MORE?
Freeride Prep
Primarily Ages 11–15 | Coach Placement
Freeride Prep is the bridge between foundational skiing and competitive freeride.
Athletes build on their skiing foundation with focused development in Big Mountain and Park & Freestyle, including challenging terrain, line choice, natural features, jumps, landings, and terrain park skills.
Coaches evaluate athletes against skill-development benchmarks as they work toward Freeride Comp.
Choose Freeride Prep if:
Your skier has strong foundational skills, is excited about big mountain and freestyle skiing, and has been recommended for Freeride Prep by a Silver Run coach.
READY TO COMPETE?
Freeride Comp
Ages 14+ | Coach Placement
Freeride Comp is for experienced athletes who have developed the skiing skills, mountain awareness, and maturity needed to take their freeride skiing into competition.
Athletes continue progressing their Big Mountain and Park & Freestyle skills while training for and participating in freeride competitions.
Choose Freeride Comp if:
Your athlete has met the appropriate Freeride development benchmarks and has been recommended for the Comp team by a Silver Run coach.
Not Sure Where Your Skier Belongs?
That's okay — you don't have to figure it out alone.
Silver Run's pathway is based on athlete development, not simply age. Coaches evaluate skiing ability, confidence, mountain awareness, maturity, and readiness to help place each athlete in the program where they'll be challenged while continuing to develop safely.
