This group will meet on Saturdays from Dec. 2 to April 13 (20 weeks) from 9am to 3pm, with an unsupervised 45-minute lunch. This includes a week-long camp during the holiday break. New this year, the competitive program will meet 2 Sundays a month in addition to the regular Saturday sessions. Occasional “field trips” to other areas for training are expected (lift tickets will be an additional charge). This program is for strong skiers who like to push themselves by skiing steep, ungroomed terrain. Certified coaches will focus on preparing athletes for freeski and terrain park competition. Ski gear, a helmet, and season pass are required, and a back protector is strongly encouraged (and may be required for competition). Competition expenses are extra, and include travel, lodging, lift tickets, entry fees, and food. Oftentimes the team will travel and stay together to keep costs down. In addition to these expenses, the coach’s expenses will be divided among the athletes attending competitions. This includes mileage, perdiem, lodging, and lift tickets. The coach can travel and lodge with families attending if possible, to keep expenses down. This program is open to ages 10-18. $900 includes pre-season dryland conditioning. There is an early bird discount through Oct. 20.
