Schedule of Events:

• 10:00- 11:00 check-in, pay, and bib pick up at the warming hut
• Course Closed until you start
• 11:10 Itty Bitty (Penguin League) /Golden age (1 Lap, you choose skate or classic)
• 11:13 Short Duathlon (2 Laps, 1 classic & 1 skate)
• 11:16 Distance Duathlon (2 Laps, 1 classic & 1 skate)
• 12:10 (or 15 min after completion of previous races) Relays (Teams of 2, 2 laps each, 4 laps total) Each skier does 1 lap on skate and 1 on classic**
• Awards:
  • Best Costume!
  • Race Awards.

Cost- $25 Per racer. This fee includes both the Individual and Relay Race. This does NOT include a trail pass for the day Please sign in and pay the trail fee at the parking lot if you do not have a season pass. Daily trail pass is $10

There will be No Snack Table, Please Bring your own snacks and water

Shelter/Parking– Warming Hut Will be closed for everyone, park in the parking lot and ski/walk to start

Protests- only acceptable if you are wearing an obnoxious costume or 1000 Swiss Francs (we are fundraising money for a new van)

Awards- Awards given in stadium after final races

Timing- You will be timed…. Mostly 😉

Warm up- You can use any trail not involved with the race course to warm up. Check out the Far side!

There are Four Classes and a Relay at the Mind Bender:

Distance Duathlon – This Division will race 2 laps – one classic, & one skate. This course is designed to have optimal levels of fun skiing (This should be a fast course!) 6K

Short Duathlon – This race is a shorter course and is designed for those Beginner skiers or those that aren’t quite up to the Distance Duathlon level. This is for all ages. The race includes 2 laps – one classic, & one skate. 2K

Itty Bitty – This race is a shorter course and is designed for those under 8 or those that aren’t quite up to the Short Duathlon (with race director approval) Penguin League kids are often placed here. The race includes one lap either skate or classic, your choice. .5-1K

Golden Age – This race is a shorter course and is designed for those of the ‘Golden Age’ or traditionally for racing with your Itty Bitty. You know if you fit here (typically over age 65). The race includes one lap either skate or classic, your choice. .5-1K

Relay – This race is a shorter course and is designed for optimal spectator and participant fun! Teams are Composed of 2 racers (varying ages and abilities encouraged, ie. Distance Duathlon & Itty Bitty racers). Each racer will do 2 laps, 1 classic, and 1 skate, taking turns. Ski change will happen while your partner is racing. 4K total, 2K each person.

** Athletes who sign up for the Itty Bitty Race will be allowed to do the Itty Bitty course during relays and may keep the same technique throughout if they choose to. Golden Age Skiers will do the regular Relay course.

Costumes are very Highly encouraged! – Prizes awarded for best costume!
